Yukiko Koide Presents is pleased to participate in ART in PARK HOTEL TOKYO.
On this occasion, she mounts an exhibition “Phytography” with three female artists who have developed their unique styles and brilliant techniques to portray flowers and plants.
Exhibiting artists are Yukiko Hayashida (b.1961, Japan) who does traditional Japanese-style painting with natural mineral pigments, Astrid Köppe (b.1974, Germany) who specializes in exquisitely contoured drawings in ink and pencil, and Saya Yamagishi (b.1981, Japan) who produces jewel-like objects with Japanese lacquer.
They each pursue their own “Phytography.”
In addition, powerful drawings by legendary outsiders, such as Dwight Mackintosh (1906-1999, USA), Oswald Tschirtner (1920-2007, Austria), Dan Miller (b.1961, USA), and Donald Mitchell (b. 1951, USA) will greet you in the foyer.

Berlin Studio Conversations – Twenty Women Talk About Art
Celebrating the launch of “Berlin Studio Conversations – Twenty Women Talk About Art”. Presentation of the book and panel discussion with the author Stephanie Buhmann and selected artists of the book.
For Berlin “Studio Conversations – Twenty Women Talk About Art”, art historian Stephanie Buhmann conducted interviews with nineteen female artists. While their genres, aesthetics and media differ greatly, they still have one thing in common: they all live and work in Berlin. In search of the contents, which are outside the medial fixation on the art market, Buhmann visited the artists in their studios and gained insights in the intimate space of their artistic practices.
Berlin Studio Conversations presents their unique work processes and approaches, while telling of various philosophies, sources of inspiration and personal histories.
Artists presented in this book: Elvira Bach, Bettina Blohm, Birgit Brenner, Angela Bulloch, Svenja Deininger, Friederike Feldmann, Katharina Grosse, Monika Grzymala, annette hollywood, Franka Hörnschemeyer, Astrid Köppe, Alicja Kwade, Tara Mahapatra, Susan Philipsz, Cornelia Renz, Alona Rodeh, Cornelia Schleime, Su-Mei Tse, Jorinde Voigt.

On the occasion of celebrating seven years LAGE EGAL, the off-site exhibition IF THIS THEN THAT(2) negotiates the subject of the potential.
The title points to a procedural programming language accomplishing binary conditions.
"Der Lauf der Dinge", a video by Fischli/Weiss from 1987 reflects upon the role of the human being as creator and plays on the notion of "if this then that" when a single hand's move starts off a chain reaction of art production similar to the Rube-Goldberg-Apparatus.
In the context of "what happens if…" seven artists – Jofroi Amaral, Peter Freitag, Pierre Granoux, Sibylle Jazra, Astrid Köppe, Lukas Troberg, Michaela Zimmer - take up the idea of the possible, the potential and the uncertain.
IF THIS THEN THAT(2) takes place during Galleryweekend Berlin 2017 at Reinbeck-Hallen, in the district of Oberschöneweide, a recently restored industrial factory setting at the river Spree.
